Great (and I do mean great) Grandma Davenport

My Grandma Davenport was the sweetest most loving person I have ever met. I have so many fond memories of her and the house that she and my grandfather lived in. In my entire life I only remember her scolding me twice and I well deserved them. She had twinkling eyes and a laugh that was contagious. I loved it when she would play the piano and sing with us, the song inchworm will always remind me of her. In short, my childhood memories with my Grandma feel as close to magic as I may ever get.
When she died in 2004, it was so sudden. I don't think I would have changed anything about it, she seemed like she had made up her mind and was ready to go. Luckily all of the family that was in the area was able to be with her in the hospital when she went. I do remember being envious of my older brother who got to say goodbye to her over the phone, I envied his privacy, that we couldn't see or hear him cry. It was hard for me to do that in front of all my family, aunt, uncle, and cousins. When I think of her even today I still get bleary-eyed. We all loved her so much, but she was the founder of that love and gave it all back to us times ten.
There are so many ways that I would like to remember and honor my grandmother, the first of these was naming Esther after her. When Es was born in 2006 we took her down to my grandparents grave site on memorial day to remember them and take her picture. We have done so ever since, and I would like to continue this tradition, forever, if possible:) I don't have the very first picture on here (before I got a digital camera so I will have to scan it in later) and this year I was having a very hard time getting Esther to be where I wanted her but....you get the idea. I love both of these woman very much and as I remember one, I will thoroughly enjoy watching who the other will become!

Super Ezra!

These were taken on Mothers Day, Ezra got his clothes all wet when we were spraying off some mats (he really loves to get wet) so someone in my family took them off and I think Rebecca was the one that tied the little bandanna around him. I just thought they were cute pictures so I posted them. Enjoy the cuteness.

Have yourself a happy little mother......

Well it was a busy Mothers Day but a good one, filled with mostly family and food, and a few fragrant blooms. Right from the get go it was move, move, move! We had breakfast at nine-ish with Brocks father and stepmother (and siblings) and then we had lunch at Grandma Clarkies (far right in above picture). Brocks mom is on the far left. After that we went to my parents for a early dinner, so it was a lot of eating but lot's of fun of course too. Then on our way home to Provo we stopped at my Grandma and Grandpa Snyders house for dessert. Some highlights of the day were the pretty bouquet of lilacs and irises that Joey and his girlfriend Gracie gave me. They smelled amazing and they are still smelling up our apt today.

Also we cleaned out our van which I know doesn't sound that exciting, but when your used to riding around in a trash can, it feels nice to be in a clean vehicle. Brock kept the kids a little busier than usual and I know they enjoyed that. The night before me and Esther made cards and flowers for all the moms and grandmas in our life, I really enjoy watching her motor skills develop. She painted the cards by herself but I did make a few suggestions on what theme we were going for. All in all a beautiful day filled with beautiful people!
